About us
Our Mission
Our mission is to continuously explore and understand the primary food needs of South Asian business travelers in order to provide immediate, authentic, good-tasting, simple-to-prepare Indian food.
My Story, My Start Up
I was born in Germany and raised in the U.S. My husband, Manohar, was born and raised in India. Ten years ago, Manohar’s work brought him to Minnesota and we met. Despite differences in language and culture, we discovered we had a common love of food. (I liked to make it and he liked to eat it!)
Manohar gave me my first Indian cookbook, one by famed Indian chef Sanjeev Kapoor. I studied, tested, and perfected the recipes day and night. Next I started taking classes from local star chef Raghavan Iyer. Then I was ready for the ultimate test. I took my first trip to India where I cooked for my soon-to-be mother-in-law. (It must have turned out pretty well!)
| Over subsequent visits to India as well as my mother-in-law’s summer stays with us here in the U.S., my respect for Indian food only grew. Churning out meals as quickly as I was devouring up recipes, the Indian name given to me was Annapurna, after the Hindu goddess of food and cooking.

Alas, here we are today. As much as I would like to personally prepare sambar for every visitor from Chennai or rajmah for those from Delhi, it’s just not possible. What I can offer, however, is a starter kit, or depending on your perspective, a “survival kit” of ready-to-eat Indian food.
